The fight of this loli girls is so shounen that I just have to laugh and I'm glad they became hot teens

+ animation felt like made by 1 person in his spare time,especially last scenes of rika and satoko fisting each other.

Amidst everything I was so just wondering if the REAL Satoko was still out there somewhere banished into whatever realm and in the end she was returned by the antagonist Satoko. Everyone's alive, Satoshi's awake too. This is the perfect world where every character is happy.

she was just suppressed the witch set her free in the end based on the line "fine hojo satoko i'll return you to yourself"

I think the real satoko came back at that ending scene where satoko was reaching her hand in the sky and witch satoko said something about satoko then a snap of finger satoko did the laugh so yeah satoko and witch satoko is here

Fist fight ended the long 100 years of battle which even baseball bat, knives, forks, guns, saws etc couldn’t do lol

Hahaha, but Rika & Satoko have fought countless of time. But still I appreciate they rather choose fistfight as their last confrontation..

I might get downvoted for this but I never felt like this sequel to Higurashi was ''needed''. Do not misunderstand me I am not saying that I did not like to see the characters that I like again or did not enjoy some arcs or moments BUT When I look at the story of Higurashi as a whole I just don't feel like the story needed this sequel. Higurashi already had a good and completed ending when Rika managed to finally break free from her cruel fate and beat Takano but then this season came and just threw Rika straight back into the death trap which just reduced the weight and meaning of Rika's victory in the original. Not to mention they just turned Satoko straight into a psychopath who kills her best friend OVER AND OVER even after learning that She has already nearly lost her mind because of dying over a century. How can I like Satoko after they just made her even WORSE than Takano for no decent reason ? I just don't think that this sequel made the story better as a whole when I look at the full picture so I wish they just made an Umineko adaptation instead of trying to continue a series that was already very decently concluded and sour the taste of Higurashi I had with the original with a forced sequel

tottally agreed! I love the 2008 version and ending was soo good better yet that ending is perfect this new season are really felt like money grabing which make it sad

This ending more neatly ties into umineko which makes me hopeful to see a umineko reboot since the original was a complete shit show. But seeing as they had nothing in the ending about umineko now im just sad

Umineko's first 4 arcs have way more complicated lore than any action so if they reboot it it still might not do well enough for a second season

It would be less risky if they just continue with adapting arcs 5-8 and if everything goes well they can go back and reboot season 1

The ending also shows satoko's Ni-ni alive

Yeah i felt like they made a sequel for money but I don't really care since I like to see the character again which is I am so thankful that they made a sequel

after this final episode i am now torughly convinced this was originaly ment to be a movie or maybe 2 movies. the final 2 episodes seem like a decent if slight confused narrative but definetly one i could get behind if they hadn't just wasted our time with a mystery over nearly 40 episodes that amounted to nothing.
that setup for the Rikas and Satokos conflict if you remove the mystery aspect from the gou season and the completly uneeded answer arcs(honestly as long as you know Satoko is behind it the answers doesn't reveal anything) could easily be replaced with a first arc of a movie and set it up over around 30 minutes. might be slightly rushed to be honest so maybe and OVA series of around 5-6 episodes would have done it better.

either way nobody will ever be able to convince me this project was originaly thought up as a double season story because there simply isn't nearly enough content for even a single season.

if Eua is supposed to be featherine why isn't Featherines horn damaged? the one connection of substance actually makes the connection imposible.
edit: so i actually realised featherines horn was broken and that's why she became featherine... except that's actually worse because that just makes it blatantly clear how all of this is just a shitty retcons of the connections between Higurashi and Umineko.
this series isn't just worthless. it's actually damageing to both series lore.

No it doesnt change lore? If you know her horns are the/her MD. Which partly holds powers & memories.

What we learned due this as Featherine mentioned in Umineko due a "confrontation" with another being. Her MD got damaged (her horns) thus she lost some of her powers & commented that her personality became boring/drasticlly changed.
Aka 180° like how "Hanyus" personality for example.
Now Eua is just literally her but older & more powerfull.
Thus it was shown that not only where here "memories shattered" but she apparently meant that literally back then in Umineko.
She literally split into several "fragments" of her own ego.
With Hanyu being the weakest & most friendliest out of all so far.

Nothing was retconned we already knew that from the VN back then. Only until now we never had a confirmation that Hanyu truly is Featherine withouth her powers & her MD damaged (Like its a constant things that Hanyu had a cracked horn)
What this series brought up that "Eua" exists and due her mention the newest VN Ciconia we can assume she play a role/shows up in that gameboard sooner or later.

They need to end it now because maybe they forgot and got

Agreed completely. The original Higurashi series is one of my favoite shows of all time. I've played through all the SN's multiple times, and all of the Umineko VN's. By the time this episode finished it was like I was watching a completely different series. All of these characters have different personalities entirely from the originals. Whoever decided on this direction really didn't understand the original at all. I don't know how involved Ryuukishi07 was with this second season, but he was very minimally involved in the first. I could never see him approving of this direction

i would say that this is necessary because for me i dont even know the original series of this anime. this anime give new refresh which forgotten by anime community.
